PS - Interview Skills By Jorge Carty Diaz

    A first interview sometimes is scary because since is a first time, it could be a little challenging to know what to expect. Schools teach you the very basics of professionalism and some people don't realize them until later on in their lives. The first video I watched was about a lady getting interviewed but you can clearly see that she doesn't have any knowledge about an interview and clothing codes. At the very start I was able to see how she dressed up, she was wearing a hat for the whole interview. When the employer asked her questions, she wasn't sure what he was talking about and made some unusual answers to those questions. The video itself was a little weird because I felt that the girl applied to a job that she didn't even know what it was about and obviously she wasn't prepared.

     On the other hand, on the second video I was able to see a lady that was dressed up professionally and I thought that this video was going to be more of an usual or proper interview. The lady answered the questions in specific and well structured sentences proving that she has very good communication skills and knowledge of how to act during an interview. I believe the second video shows us a better way to successfully conclude an interview and impress your employer to make him be intrigued in you. This second video can help you stand out. I'm not saying that it was perfect because there are some things that she could have managed better but overall it was good.

My experience in the Metropolitan Museum of Art

This experience was great! I loved everything i saw in the museum but of course, there are some stuff that could have been better. Let's start with the negatives so we can finish up with the positives. One negative aspect about the trip was the waiting time outside. It really was a pain to have to wait for around 30-40 minutes outside in the rain. It really didn't feel good but i believe the staff was doing everything as fast as they could to get every single student inside the museum. In the museum i got to talk to many representatives of different programs around New York and they gave us stuff like posts its, pens, little notebooks, pins, stickers, etc. These programs offered many activities, some of them paid and some others free, and these programs were really interesting because one of them offered game development classes, others musical classes and more. I was surprised by the variety of stuff you were able to sign up for, and all of them were really nice and friendly.

Lab Quince | JS Drum Kit & Clock | Jorge Carty

In lab 15, I was required to create a website that allowed the user to play sounds from a drum kit using the keyboard, to be more exact, with keys like "A", "S", "D", "F", "G", "H", "J", "K", "L". Also, this lab has a clock that tells you the real-time and it's constantly updating. To develop this idea I had to design the clock and the drum kit in HTML and CSS, and add its functionality with JavaScript. For the drum kit, divs were made with specific data-keys and using audio tags that also react to data-keys which makes the sounds work, and the other makes the div get highlighted once you press a key in the drum kit. A function in JavaScript was also made in order to allow the user to spam the sounds, otherwise, the sound would play and the user would have to wait a couple of seconds to play it again.
