WINDOWS VS MAC by Jorge Carty

... but Microsoft is catching up.
Apple prides itself on design ...                 



  There are a lot of differences between a Mac and a Windows computers. There are a lot of things so mention. Their laptops are differently designed, Apple spends a lot of years to design their laptops because they are trying to make it as comfortable as possible, Microsoft is doing the same thing now, they came up with the Surface book with a Surface pen. Microsoft claims that this Surface book is as twice as fast than a MacBook Pro, the Surface's screen can be detached from the keyboard and be used as a tablet with the Surface pen or your finger.






Image result for money image    Something we all agree on is that a Windows laptops are cheaper than the MacBooks. Some people claim that Windows offers better laptops for less money, that Windows runs better than Macs but there are a lot of opinion around the whole discussion. Windows laptops have a starting price of around $500 when the MacBook Air laptop is the cheapest in Apple with an starting price of $899. I didn't know about this but Windows super fans call this ''Apple tax''.



Macs tend to be safer against malware and viruses.    One advantage that Macs have is that, they are most likely to not get a Virus and one the of the main reasons is that there are fewer Macs than Windows laptops out there, which makes Apple a smaller target for the attackers. This won't last forever, A tons of new viruses are being presented in Macs computers and that number is increasing. Apple claims that there are new types of encryption and security features were added in the recent OS S El Capitan release to keep your computer and information safe.




    In my opinion, both computers are good but they are out there for different purposes. People said that if you are trying to go hardcore in gaming, the best choice for you is a Windows computer but if you are a business person, the most popular computers for those type of  jobs are Macs. This is what i believe or this is my opinion about both computers.

My experience in the Metropolitan Museum of Art

This experience was great! I loved everything i saw in the museum but of course, there are some stuff that could have been better. Let's start with the negatives so we can finish up with the positives. One negative aspect about the trip was the waiting time outside. It really was a pain to have to wait for around 30-40 minutes outside in the rain. It really didn't feel good but i believe the staff was doing everything as fast as they could to get every single student inside the museum. In the museum i got to talk to many representatives of different programs around New York and they gave us stuff like posts its, pens, little notebooks, pins, stickers, etc. These programs offered many activities, some of them paid and some others free, and these programs were really interesting because one of them offered game development classes, others musical classes and more. I was surprised by the variety of stuff you were able to sign up for, and all of them were really nice and friendly.

Lab Quince | JS Drum Kit & Clock | Jorge Carty

In lab 15, I was required to create a website that allowed the user to play sounds from a drum kit using the keyboard, to be more exact, with keys like "A", "S", "D", "F", "G", "H", "J", "K", "L". Also, this lab has a clock that tells you the real-time and it's constantly updating. To develop this idea I had to design the clock and the drum kit in HTML and CSS, and add its functionality with JavaScript. For the drum kit, divs were made with specific data-keys and using audio tags that also react to data-keys which makes the sounds work, and the other makes the div get highlighted once you press a key in the drum kit. A function in JavaScript was also made in order to allow the user to spam the sounds, otherwise, the sound would play and the user would have to wait a couple of seconds to play it again.
