Spring Capstone Project - Jorge Carty Diaz

Coming back to coding was fun. After taking a break due to a little accident I had with my skateboard :s. I decided to put everything I knew and a little more to end up having a decent looking project since it's the last one I will be making. I'm going to admit that I lost the taste to coding since I was doing it, a little too much, and I oversaturated myself with it. It was mostly me trying out new things that I can implement on my website.

Leaving all that behind, let's talk about the Spring Capstone Project. What was it about? Why was it fun? Simple. Our mission was to create multiple pages that connect to each other in a way that everything looks uniform and related to each other. I also had to adapt it to my portfolio's theme, which is dark. We were free to decide what kind of content we will be adding to our pages, thank god because doing a long project about a boring topic is kind of a bummer, THANKS, TEACHER!

I decided to make it about my favorite game nowadays which is Valorant. A shooter that many people call a combination between CS:GO and Overwatch, and it really does look like their son but with more hype and more problems since it's fairly new and servers are exploding due to the mass of players.

My project is a character guide, where you can find useful information about characters and how to play them. I divided each character into 4 pages that talk about them, with a navigation bar that can take you anywhere. Something I learned while I was experimenting was animations with CSS and implementing that into :hover's, :active's, etc. I gotta accept that loading animations make the website look wayyyyy better.

This is how I planned my 20 pages. I knew that 1 page was for the main screen, so I did it, leaving me with 19 left. Since each character has 4 dedicated pages, and I have 4 characters, that made a total of 16 pages used. Leaving me 3 left. I didn't know what to do for the other 3 but I remembered that I used images and information that I didn't design or come up with. CREDITS PAGE! Left me with 2 pages left. This was tough. Brainstorm after brainstorm I came up with kind of an unnecessary idea that still looks good on the website. That idea was the "Pick a character page". In this page I put a little picture of the characters with a fading animation on the hover to make it not so plain to the eye.

I have one page left. What can I put in my project that doesn't look off? Well, I was doing this hours before my Valorant stream... Yes, I made a watch me page as the last page. In the watch me page you can find my first Valorant video which is a compilation of my best plays while I played the closed beta and a clip from twitch since I streamed the game almost every day.

This is all I had to through to get this done :).
