LAB #5 Brushes by Jorge Carty Diaz

Image
In this lab #5 ''Brushes'', I drew the first thing that came up in my head on a piece of white paper. My drawing was scanned to have it on the computer and start working on it. This project consisted on making my drawing ''alive'' by putting colors into it. We were only allowed to use brushes, not other tools, since we have a huge variety of brushes to use i did not have any problem completing this project. All i did was pick the color i wanted to use for a certain part of my drawing and i started painting it. To make it look better, i colored the edges of every object within the picture a darker color of the original to make it look like a shadow, in my opinion it looks way better because it doesn't have a plain looking. I think this technique gives people a vivid picture of the scene. This skills are necessarily important for a web designer because it helps the person get familiarized with the huge variety of brushes and i think it is a cool way to...

LAB #7 Filters by Jorge Carty Diaz

Image
In this lab called ''Filters'', we learned about the different filters we can apply to images/pictures using Photoshop CC 2017. This lab consisted on taking a picture of myself and plotting it in the work space. Then, we selected a picture from our gallery and placed it on the work space, i duplicated the picture until i had 5 pictures plus my ''selfie'', that make 6 images on the work space. After i had all my imaged placed, i use the filter called ''Liquify'' and ''deformed'' my face. For the other pictures i used different filters such as ''Dry Brush'', ''Plastic Wrap'', ''Colored Pencils'', ''Rough Pastels'', ''Paint Daubs''. After applying the filters i started playing with options of each one of them like with the intensity of each filter. After, I chose two colors for the foreground which was a light and darker peach color, after I pi...

LAB #8 Turkey Card by Jorge Carty Diaz

Image
In this lab #8 we made a Turkey Card for the Thanksgiving Holiday. In this lab, I used different tools such as Lasso Tool, Text Tool, and blur. I used the Lasso tool to select only the turkey without the background. Then I inverted selection to have the background selected and i blurred the background to leave the turkey with sharped edges to make the image focus on the turkey and give the message of thanksgiving and i made the canvas 100% bigger on the top of the picture to make a sort of card after printing the image. Lastly, i used the text tool to write a message such as ''Happy Thanksgiving'' and also write my name like this ''By Jorge Carty''. This skills helps a web designer get better using the different tools photoshop provides.

LAB #9 Blending Options by Jorge Carty Diaz

Image
In this lab #9 called Blending Options we used the "Text Tool" to put our first name on the work space. We duplicated the name layer 5 times and placed it in different parts of the work space, i tried to make an even image by having enough positive and negative space. After we plotted the 5 names, we used the Blending Options and applied a different blending style to each layer. The blending styles I used were Satin, Outer Glow, Stroke, Drop Shadow, Gradient Overlay and Bevel & Emboss. This is important for a web designer because it gets him familiarized with the different Blending Options they have and can apply to different projects.
