PROJECT UNO - Jorge Carty Diaz

Image
Project one had easy and hard moments. It was very hard to get everyone to do their job to have it on time and to get everyone's ideas into one project since we had many things in mind but we could only keep one and stick to it and probably make changes later on. We faced many challenges with coding but there was one in particular that stands out the most. Putting all the parts together. It was hard because some of my teammates made general tags in the CSS part and once we tried to put all parts together, the whole project kept messing up. For example, they were having CSS of padding that affected the whole document and others that also affected other HTML files making it a complete mess. I was in charge of combining the work so, I had to fix it. What I did to fix it was put all tags in classes and ids to stop interfering with other files and that was a lot of work. After it was fixed, I had to also modify the links because we all had different folder destinations. Something we d

What does the CTE Diploma means to me?

What does it mean to have a CTE Diploma? It means a lot, and by a lot, I mean a lot of doors open for me. "I want to do Web Design for my whole life, programming is my passion" that is something I used to say, now, I don't know if I want that. I feel like I'm running out of time to figure out what I want to do in college and it is very hard now. I've experienced many things in my life and I've tried things on my own that make me change my mind about programming. Maybe I just lost inspiration and I'm overthinking it, but that something that made me enjoy the class and coding isn't there anymore. I like sitting down and creating something using codes and I feel very proud of myself when I write a lot of code and create what I had in mind, it is very satisfying, like landing a new trick with the skateboard. When I was a Junior, I used to say "I can't code for s$#%" but helping my peers made me realize that YES I CAN, I'm just ver

LAB DOS By Jorge Carty Diaz

This second lab was tricky but not difficult. I remember I did something like this in my Junior year and it really facilitated the way of completing this lab. It consisted of making different pop-ups when you open the page that has different messages in the boxes and they have buttons for the user to interact with. In short terms, we needed to create a page that had pop-ups that are interactive and give the user the chance to interact with the page. This skill of making pop-ups windows is very important because it can make a website way more interactive and can attract more clients depending on the concept. In case a website is made for kids, these pop-ups would definitely do the job of keeping them inside your website whether it's for information or games.
